Topic: Formal email requests

Objective: Students will write a polite, structured email requesting information or action from a colleague.

Activity: Show a poorly written urgent email. Elicit what is wrong with tone and structure.

Activity: Introduce phrases for opening, stating purpose, making requests, and closing. Students sort them by formality.

Activity: Students rewrite the poor email using at least four new phrases.

Activity: In pairs, one student writes an email requesting a meeting; the other replies accepting and asking one clarifying question.
